CFPA Auditions & Role Placement
How Casting Works
At CFPA, every student goes through an audition or placement process. We use auditions as a learning tool, not just a casting tool.
Grades K–4: Little Bits will do guided in-class auditions during regular rehearsal. We will teach them what to do, practice together, and help them feel confident while we get to know their voices, personalities, movement, and acting choices.
Grades 5 & Up: Older students may sign up for Saturday audition appointments. At this age, we begin encouraging students to prepare more independently and take ownership of their material.
Every student will be placed in a role that helps them shine, grow, and succeed in the production.
Audition Materials
How Auditions Work
Auditions are scheduled in 30-minute time slots. Please arrive only for your assigned appointment time; you won’t need to stay the whole time.
Dress to Impress: No costumes, please! Dress in your “Sunday best” but choose something comfortable. Make sure hair is pulled out of the face so our team can see you clearly.

What to Expect
Students will receive audition or placement materials during the first week of rehearsals. We’ll guide them through the process in class and help them prepare before casting decisions are made.
Pro Tip: Use sticky notes or page tabs to mark these two pages in their script—it’s a great way to reduce stress during the audition!
Fill this out and bring it to your audition. Not required for students who do not audition.
Every student who registers for the program will be included in the production and receive opportunities to shine on stage.

Our updated process allows younger performers to learn in a more supportive and educational environment while still giving students opportunities to audition for featured roles.
