Policies, Guidelines & General Release

Central Florida performing Arts

Central Florida Performing Arts (CFPA)

These policies exist to ensure a safe, respectful, and successful experience for all students and families. By participating in CFPA programs, families agree to the guidelines outlined below.

Health & Safety Guidelines

Emergency Contacts
Parents/guardians must provide up-to-date emergency contact information during registration.

Medical Information
Please inform staff of any medical conditions, allergies, or medications at the start of the season. If medication needs to be stored with the director, it must be clearly labeled with the child’s name.

In the event of a serious medical emergency, 911 will be called immediately, and parents/guardians will be notified as soon as possible.

Injury Prevention
Warm-ups are mandatory at all rehearsals and performances to help prevent injury. Students should report any pain or discomfort immediately.

Supervision
CFPA staff supervise participants during rehearsals, performances, and events. Students are expected to follow directions and remain in designated areas. Failure to follow instructions or leaving supervised areas without permission may result in dismissal from the program.

Pickup & Drop-Off
Participants must be dropped off and picked up at designated times and locations. All students will be released from the Founders Room only.

Arrival, Waiting & Dismissal Flow

Arrival & Dismissal Flow

Upon arrival, parents and guardians should continue past the rehearsal rooms and wait in the long open hallway area to allow students and staff space to move freely between the theater and Founders Room.

Please avoid gathering outside rehearsal rooms, stairwells, or the main square, as these areas are used for student transitions and warm-ups.

All students are dismissed from the Founders Room. Even when rehearsals take place in the theater, students will return to the main square for dismissal.

Parents should wait outside the main square until students are released.

Thank you for helping us keep transitions safe, quiet, and organized.

Registration & Payment Policies

No Refunds After Cast Announcement
Once the cast list has been released, no refunds will be issued. This policy ensures fairness and allows CFPA to plan responsibly for each production.

Late Payments
All payments must be completed according to the agreed-upon payment schedule. A $20 late fee may be applied to accounts not settled on time. Please ensure timely payment to avoid interruptions.

For full details, please review the Payment Policy page.

Social Media & Photography Policy

  • No Photography or Video During Shows
Due to strict copyright licensing agreements, photography and video recording by audience members are strictly prohibited during performances.

    Professional Media Package
CFPA hires a professional photographer and videographer to capture performances. Families may pre-order a professional photo and video package for an additional fee when offered.

Code of Conduct

Respect
All participants are expected to treat peers, staff, and the rehearsal/performance environment with respect at all times.

Punctuality
Students must arrive on time for rehearsals and performances. Repeated lateness may result in removal from specific sections of the show.

Teamwork
Theater is a collaborative art. Students are expected to support one another and work as a team.

Bullying
Any form of bullying — in person, online, or via social media — will result in immediate dismissal from the program.

Misconduct & Online Behavior
Participants engaging in illegal activity or inappropriate online behavior that reflects poorly on CFPA may be dismissed without refund.

Communication Protocols

To keep communication clear and efficient, CFPA uses the following channels:

  • Portal for parents (primary source): Rehearsal notes, schedules, costumes, and updates

  • Practice page for Students (primary source): Rehearsal videos & music
  • Private Facebook Group: Quick reminders, photos, and community updates
  • Email: cfpabackstage@gmail.com

Please allow up to 48 hours for responses outside of rehearsal hours.

Attendance Policy

    • One Excused Absence Allowed
Each cast member is allowed one (1) excused absence.

      Excessive Absences
More than one absence — excused or unexcused — may result in removal from specific sections of the show or forfeiture of a role.

      Conflicts & Honesty
All known conflicts must be disclosed at auditions. Dishonesty regarding conflicts may affect casting decisions for the current and future productions.

If a participant exceeds approved absences, their role may be adjusted or recast at any time.

      Why Attendance Matters
Each rehearsal builds skills, teamwork, and readiness for performance. Consistent attendance is essential to the success of both the individual student and the full cast.

Casting Feedback Policy

Families are asked to refrain from contacting the casting team with concerns for 48 hours following casting announcements.

This reflection period allows time to process decisions thoughtfully. After 48 hours, constructive and respectful communication is welcome.

Inappropriate or disrespectful communication may impact future casting considerations.
